Your Muscles Used In Vertical Jump Workouts
The muscles in your body consist of various fiber kinds. These fibers give them the capability of having strength or the capability to easily go against intense opposition with speed or the capability of contracting fast. What many people do not understand is that it is not possible for you to just condition your muscles by performing plyometrics training or weight training and then anticipate them to build up in a roaring speed. That is because conditioning your fibers by doing rigorous weight training and plyometrics will only pays less attention to their normal capacity to contract quickly. Training can only make those muscles begin to act slower.
To make best use of your leaping capability, you have to make your muscles contract rightfully and fast. It means that conditioning your muscle fibers for tempo and it cannot be performed by combining it with too much repetition such as in plyometrics and power training. It is true that strength has a very important role in your attempt to jump higher but your capability to leap higher actually depend on the contraction speed of your muscles and your toughness during the jump. Contraction speed refers to how rapid the leg muscles contract during a jump or leap or how quick the legs are when in motion. Much like an extended or stretched rubber band which contracts instantaneously upon released, quick muscles will immediately propel you to heights.
Of course, you have to be strong to move your body above the floor yet any development in leaping more heights can fundamentally depend upon the velocity that your muscles create. Thus, it all boils down on how quickly those muscles in your legs contract. The credit of being the greatest jumper goes to the ones with the fastest muscles to contract. The quicker the leg muscles contract, the higher you can leap. It is as plain as that.
But hey, although you have been the highest leaper, there could be more stored speed in your leg muscles which can bring higher leaps and more proud jumps. The word is muscle speed and not just muscle strength. Say for instance in basketball, leaping higher means slam dunking easily, blocking shots that cannot be done before, clearing the boards frequently, score more points and make winning moves. You cannot wonder why everybody wants to have that winning vertical jump! Yes, we’ve seen how exceptional basketball players have separated themselves over the others through their skill in jumping higher and taking control in the court.
When you lack this, you will not be able to score as much as you want to, your own team might lose games, the defense can fail, and worse, you might be watching the game in your team’s bench for longer minutes. Well, if you really want to perform scrupulous exercise routines as often as 6 times per week or do some kinds of jumping exercises, you will get results. But the thing is, there is more unused energy right there in your muscles in your muscles, more specifically leg muscles.
